Regular meeting

“Aoussou Carnival Association”

9 February 2024

– The board met to prepare the annual general assembly of the Aoussou Parade Association on Friday 9 February 2024 at 16:00 in the meeting room of the Marriott hotel in Sousse, with most members of the executive board in attendance.

– Mr Walid Ben Hassen opened the session and welcomed everyone. He thanked all those who contributed to the success of the “Aladdin” show by the Babaroni circus, and went over the details of its acts, which were well received by the audience during the performance.

– Ms Ikram Ben Brahim presented the annual activity report so that its content could be reviewed openly, together with the annual financial report; the documents presented were explained and discussed.

– The draft artistic programme for the 61st edition, from 16 June to 28 July in the summer of 2024, was presented and approved by all. Those present stressed the need to change the times: 22:00 for the start of the fireworks display and 19:00 for the start of the celebrations with the carnival parade.

– The members of the executive board also discussed the current situation of the association, the progress of work in the carnival workshop and the contribution of the trainee students to that work.

– In addition, those present asked for the members to be invited to a general assembly, set for 1 March 2024, in order to fill the vacancies on the executive board, present the reports and have them approved by the members of the association.

– In a heartening discussion, the board compared the successes of the 60th edition and the current situation of the association with the past, when problems and difficulties had caused the situation to deteriorate into crisis. The sound direction now taken by the association should make it possible to overcome and ease these difficulties in the days ahead.
